RealPlayer 10 Gold for Linux is not functional (video display does not maintain correct aspect ratio, distorting playback). The open-source Helix Player does not appear to ship with the required codecs for RealMedia content.

This worked on recent versions of SuSE and RedHat, playing back RealMedia streams, files and SMIL 1.0 presentations. There continues to be no stable media player on Linux with SMIL 2.0 support.
