This is an update to yesterday's "Voter-to-Voter Media Kit for JRE", which was a Windows executable. The new version is an .ISO image which you can burn to a CD. It is a 20M download and will automatically run on a Windows machine when you put the CD in the drive (if AutoLoad is enabled).
It includes 16 TV commercials with broadband-quality video (requires RealPlayer), Real Solutions, issue handouts, streaming speeches and web sites with JRE info.
This is NOT affiliated with the official campaign, but all campaign media is copyrighted by the campaign (and unchanged by this packaging). See the license.txt file on the CD.
For non-Windows users, click on the index.htm file in the root directory of the CD. Tested on Linux, should also work on a Mac with RealPlayer installed.
If one JRE supporter in each town with an upcoming primary downloads this file and gives out CDs to friends and neighbors, we can deliver JRE's message to voters without help from the national media.
This is grassroots democracy made possibly by the Net and Napster (remember why everyone bought CD burners?). Maybe an enterprising reporter will do a story on this bypass of traditional media.
JRE has been an outspoken advocate for campaign finance reform. The bulk of campaign spending goes to TV advertising, mostly to stations and cable channels owned by large corporations.
Voter-to-voter distribution of video by sneaker-net is possible today, with a 56K modem, CD burner, pair of sneakers and enthusiasm. It takes us one step closer to the election of President JRE and the public financing of political campaigns.
Type goJRE.com/cd in your browser to get your CD.
