Code Memo

Three items related to recent work:

For the historical record, my Aug 2002 draft of the PairPair Algorithm for risk triage. An application-oriented look at PairPair will follow the release of Autometa cSpacer.

An initial release of the LGPL cross-browser Javascript library Autometa DOM has taken place. You can see a simple application at JavaIndex.org. Should work on IE, Opera7, Gecko and KHTML browsers. OO closures reduce the need for browser tests in application code, fusing the best elements of the MS and W3C DOMs. Already used in complex animation, state-driven event handling and semaphore-protected p-threads.

For audience participation in the 2004 US Presidential Election, a sneak preview of Autometa RPXP. This LGPL Perl script merges a CSV file of stream coordinates and titles with XML templates to yield SMIL 1.0 and RealText. Tested with RealPlayer8 on Linux and RealOne v2 on Windows. Enables HTTP hyperlinking and subsetting of RealVideo streams, beyond the limited options of SMIL anchors. Feedback to persaud@dotpeople.com.
